Dr. Tecoy Porter Sr.

Communicator, overseer, scholar, strategist, unifier, and choirmaster are just some of the words describing the multifaceted ministry of Dr. Tecoy Porter Sr. He serves as the lead Senior Pastor of the Genesis Church and the Director of the award winning Porter Brothers & Genesis Choir (Regional Finalist, How Sweet the Sound 2011 & 2012) in Sacramento, CA. Regarded as a leader of leaders, he is respected and revered for his innovative thinking, contemporary leadership, business savvy and holistic approach to ministry.

Dr. Porter has been featured on top Christian media outlets as TBN’s Praise the Lord, TCT’s Rejoice, LeSea Broadcasting’s Harvest Show, and Inspirational Network’s Campmeeting programs to name a few. He is a contributing expert author, panelist and keynote speaker on subjects concerning leadership, coaching, success, financial empowerment, and personal development from a Christian perspective. Dr. Porter has authored three books: Releasing Your Inner Treasure: 8 Kingdom Keys to Unlocking the Wealth Within You (2007); Treasure Chest Collection Vol.1: Inspirational Reflections for Abundant Living (2009); and soon to be released Faith To Innovate: 21st Century Tools & Strategies for Leadership Transformation.

An avid learner, Dr. Porter is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Ellington Porter

Ellington Porter has completed studies in the area of Music at Sacramento City College, and has attended the California State University, Sacramento where he studied vocal Music. He has also received an Associate in Music Ministry, Associates in Biblical Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Studies from the Trinity Life Bible College of Sacramento, California. He is a trained musician with studies and multiple degrees to his credit, but he does not hesitate to confirm that his greatest and most meaningful training has been within the church ministry. He has adopted the phrase "Church was my conservatory".

Pastor E., as he is affectionately known, is considered a gifted speaker, as well as a master gospel musician. He has worked with noted gospel artists such as Bishop Walter Hawkins, Rev. D. J. Rogers, Minister Steve Lawrence, James Wright and Dr. Cornel West just to name a few. Most recently Pastor E. composed, produced and marketed with great success "Meditations: Vol. 1...Think On These Things", a moving volume of music for spiritual easy listening which has gained tremendous acclaim across the country.

Karlette Porter

Born to Lester and Martha McQuillon on August 18, 1970, Karlette is a native of Sacramento. She is an accomplished speaker, workshop instructor, and is known as an authority on intercessory prayer. Karlette is also an author who has been published in the International Association of Minister's Wives and Minister's Widows (IAMWMW) Devotional Bible. Academically, Karlette holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Southern University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is currently employed with AT&T where she manages the Mobility National Data Center.

Presently, Karlette sings in the Genesis Mass Choir and co-chairs the Genesis Women of Wisdom (WOW) Conference along with her sister-in-love Tiwana Porter. She is also actively involved in the Sacramento Valley Association of Minister's Wives and Minister's Widows (SVMWMW), where she has served as President. Karlette is also the newly elected Capital Region Parent Representative for the California Association for the Gifted (CAG), an organization of parents, educators, and community members who strive to improve education for individuals who demonstrate giftedness or gifted potential.

Sister Porter has been happily married to Dr. Tecoy Porter Sr. since June 5th, 1993. From this happy union, they were blessed with three wonderful children, Tecoy Markee Porter, Jr., Kamarion Markee Porter, and Kara Thais Porter.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and exercising. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Tiwana Porter

Tiwana Porter was born in Mobile, AL on February 2, 1979, to Rev. Gabe Davis and Jean Shepard. She graduated with an advanced studies diploma from Lloyd C. Bird High School in 1997. Her family relocated to Richmond, VA in 1986.She attended Virginia Commonwealth University for a short time before relocating to Sacramento, California. Lady Tiwana graduated from Sacramento City College with her Associates Degrree in Music in 2003. After completion she attended Trinity Life Bible College where she obtained her Associates Degree in 2004 and a Bachelor's Degree in 2006.

Known as the "Song Bird of Genesis", Tiwana leads the Genesis Praise Team, and co-labors with her sister in love Lady Karlette over the Women of Wisdom (WOW) Conference which was founded by Elder Hazel Porter and a member of the Genesis Choir. She also leads a project, which services children supplies for school.

In the community, Lady Tiwana is a member of the Sacramento Valley Minister's Wives and Minister's Widows organization. She also is the newly appointed Public Relations Chairperson for the International Association of Minister's Wives and Minister's Widows (IAMWMW). Lady Tiwana is an entrepenuer. She is a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant working to enrich women's lives. Lady Tiwana is known for enjoying life her favorite motto is "you only live once why not enjoy it". Lady Tiwana and Pastor Ellington shares marital bliss and have been blessed with a son Master Ellington Robert Porter Jr.

The Porter Family

The Genesis Church is led by the multi-gifted pastoral team of siblings: Dr. Tecoy Porter Sr., and Dr. Ellington Porter Sr. aka The Porter Brothers. They have served as Senior Pastors of Genesis since the passing of the church's founder and their father, Dr. Robert Porter, in August 1999. While much can be said about their attributes and accomplishments, their most notable quality is their genuine concern, commitment and care for those they serve.
